Exanples of soap operas and there conventions.

Eastenders.
In this scene one of the more frequent shot types that are used is the shot reverse shot, this used to show the conversation between the two characters on screen. Cuts would have been used to speed things up whenever the conversation became free flowing. One of the other shots that are used is the close up shot, this is used to show off the emotions of one of the characters after the pub had been set on fire.

For this scene a multi camera set up would have been used so that once the big even had happened it filmed the reactions from other spots around the area. Another shot type that is used in this scene is the close up shot, this is used so that the audience can see how all of the characters have been affect by the sudden event. One of the editing techniques that are uses in this scene is fast cutting, this is used so that it can put together all of the shots taken through the multi camera set up and connote the chaos of the situation.

One of the shot types that are used in this scene is the shot reverse shot, this is used to show a conversation between two people when one of them is out of shot, one of the other shot types that are used is the close up shot where Cook and David Blood are talking. Since both of them are in shot they can have a close up on the actors faces to show their emotions.

This is the title sequence for the TV drama Skins, in this title sequence all of the characters that are in the drama are showcased through a number of cuts. This title sequence all shows off all of the things that are related with the group of teens which includes a long shot of city (Bristol) and some of their favourite spots(skate park. pub, college). It also has some visual effects, the logo becomes animated and bounces around the screen. It ends at the centre of the screen once the title sequence was coming to an end.
